My paintings bring together watercolores with graphics.
They are especially distinguished through their elegance, lightness and the love to details.
My Motives
In my paintings I vary typical Japanese motives with the Western motives. My motives are inspired by nature and people in respect to nature. I don't necessarily paint the nature per se but try to express my emotional world and to give my fancy full scope. So it can be the case that in my paintings two poppy flowers flirt or dance or even have feelings for each other. I like to experiment with ink and create surrealistic, impressionistic or expressionistic images, among others. The images tempt to bring the viewer to pause, abstract and reflect. Above all, however, the "beauty" and the "elegance" of the feelings are important to me, and I hopes to be able to evoke similar feelings with my pantings in the viewer as well.
Materials
During the painting I use Japanese (Chinese) paper and brushes. I rub the Japanese (Chinese) ink stick on the stone in order to get liquid ink - only in such a way it is posiible to create ink containing a number of fine pigments in order to be able to use more color-nuances or shades. Additionally, I use the Japanese watercolores (Gansei). When a painting is ready it will be mounted on a supporting background paper.
Stamp
At the end a painting gets a stamp, which deals at the same time as a signature of the artist. My red stamp comes directly from Japan and has a meaning "Elegance of Heart". By the choice of my artistic stamp I was inspired by Yves Saint Laurent:
"Sans élégance de coeur, il n'y a pas d'élégance".
"There is no elegance without the elegance of heart".
